Are there any side effects I should expect post-surgery (swelling, shedding, discomfort)?

Some mild swelling, redness or tenderness around the transplanted and donor areas is normal. Minor discomfort can usually be managed with prescribed medications. Shedding of transplanted hairs, known as “shock loss,” may occur during the first few weeks, but this does not indicate failure; new growth emerges within months. Other temporary effects may include mild itching, scabbing or tingling. Following post-operative care instructions, avoiding scratching and maintaining a gentle scalp routine helps minimize side effects and supports healing. Most side effects resolve naturally within 2–4 weeks.
