When can I wash my hair after surgery?

You should wait approximately three days before washing your hair unless otherwise advised. The first wash must be extremely gentle, using a recommended foam or mild shampoo provided by the clinic. Avoid rubbing, scrubbing or using strong water pressure. For Afro-textured hair, it’s especially important to avoid oils, conditioners or heavy moisturizers in the early stages to prevent graft disturbance. As the grafts settle, your surgeon will guide you through a customized washing schedule suitable for your curl pattern.
