Will my transplanted hair fall out first?

Yes, experiencing initial shedding, known as “shock loss,” is completely normal and expected. Transplanted hairs typically fall out within 2–4 weeks as part of the natural growth cycle. This does not mean the grafts are lost. The follicles remain safely beneath the scalp and will begin producing new, permanent hairs in the following months. Afro hair patients may notice the shedding slightly longer due to the curl structure, but this is not a cause for concern.
