Will there be swelling or redness?

Mild swelling or redness in the forehead, scalp or donor area is normal after hair transplantation. This is part of the body’s natural inflammatory response to the surgical procedure. Swelling typically peaks within the first 2–3 days and gradually subsides within a week.

At Evolved Hair Restoration Clinic, we provide specific aftercare instructions to minimise these effects. This may include sleeping with your head elevated, applying recommended medications and avoiding excessive physical activity or sun exposure. While swelling and redness are usually temporary, following our guidelines helps speed recovery and ensures comfort during the healing process. Patients who adhere to these recommendations often experience minimal visible swelling and a smooth, uneventful recovery.
